The Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, the Digital Security Authority and the Cyprus Association of Information Technology Enterprises (CITEA) are organising an information day "Open Day" on Friday, 02 February 2024 at 15:00, at the Training Centre of the Digital Security Authority, to present the "ICT Re-Up Skilling" programme.
This is an innovative pilot programme for upgrading skills and re-training of employees and/or unemployed persons with academic qualifications in science or economics. Priority will be given, when assessing applications for the pilot programme, to registered unemployed persons with the required academic background.
With appropriate training, the selected individuals will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to be successfully employed in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector with a view to exploiting new professional opportunities in sectors where there is an increased demand. A number of CITEA member companies (A. Th. Loizou, IBM, NCR, NetU, Oracle, PWC) are prepared to employ the candidates, provided they pass the written examinations after the training and respond to personal interviews.
The event will provide an opportunity for face-to-face meetings with technology companies in Cyprus. The training programme will last approximately 8 weeks and will commence in mid-March 2024.
To register for the workshop, interested parties are requested to complete the relevant online form by Monday, 29 January 2024.
The ICT RE-UP SKILLING project, funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Plan, has been included in the National Action Plan developed by the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy to upgrade the Digital Skills of citizens across the whole spectrum of social structure and economic activity.
