The Cyprus Academy has already succeeded in the first two years since its foundation to be accepted as a member and to actively participate in the main European Academy associations.

With its new membership in the International Academic Union, Union Academique Internationale (UAI), in November 2021, it continues to fulfill one of its founding objectives to participate in the international and European associations of Academies, in which the Republic of Cyprus did not participate before the establishment of the Academy.

The International Academic Association is a global organization with more than one hundred Academies from 63 countries from all continents in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences.

It was founded in 1919 in Paris and its offices are located in Brussels.

Its aim is to create, develop and finance from private or public funds international research projects, as well as international cooperation between the Academies and their countries, offering them the opportunity to meet and collaborate on scientific projects in the medium and long term.

Its purpose is to encourage cooperation in the promotion of studies through collaborative research and joint publications in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences promoted by the Academies and the institutions represented in the UAI: philology, history, archaeology, ethics of science and political science.

The UAI works to promote and advance knowledge and scientific exchanges and to support the initiatives of all its Academies.

The Academician, Professor Emeritus, Elena Mouzala, pianist, will represent the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts in the International Academic Association (UAI) with Academician, Professor of Law, Achilleas K.
