[PIO] Inauguration of the Press and Information Office Photo Exhibition entitled "Kticic"

The opening of the "KTIC" Photography Exhibition of the Press and Information Office (PIO) in collaboration with the Nicosia International Festival was held tonight at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister of Interior Mr. Constantinos Ioannou, in the presence of the Director of the CTI Ms. Aliki Stylianou, politicians, academics, and personalities from the field of Arts and Letters.

At the greeting the Minister of Interior Mr. Konstantinos Ioannou referred to the immeasurable archaeological value of Kourion that is reflected through the photographic exhibition, "which draws inspiration from the archaeological site of Kourion and projects as a central figure the female figure of Ktic". He added that "the female figure of KTICIC represents the birth of the new and is a characteristic sign of our country's resilience and survival from wars, invaders and the elements of nature." Referring to the work of Stefanos Kouratzis, he said that "through a contemporary photographic view we travel through the history of our country, the traces of a civilization that through the centuries was marked by conquerors and we know the quality of the craftsmen of the time, we perceive the nobility of the period". Ioannou congratulated the Director of the Press and Information Office and the Artistic Director of the Nicosia International Festival, as well as their teams, for the realization of this photographic exhibition.

At greeting the Director of the Press and Information Office Mrs. Aliki Stylianou referred to the successful course of the photographic exhibition "ELLE-Woman in Antiquity", of which the new photographic exhibition "KTIC" is a continuation. "Through the photographic eye of Stefanos Kouratzis and the artistic wisdom of Katerina Nikita", she said, the exhibition highlights "this female figure who endures exposed to natural dangers and the multifaceted history of our island and is transformed in our eyes as the symbol of endurance and survival of all Cypriots". He stressed that the GMP remains faithful to its mission and "captures, records and highlights Cyprus and its culture at every opportunity, unraveling the thread that connects yesterday with today".

The exhibition will remain on display and open to the public in the foyer of the Nicosia Municipal Theatre until 30 January 2024.
