Annual Change in Sales 7.1%
In February 2024, total sales of petroleum products reached 115,421 tonnes, an increase of 7.1% compared to February 2023. An increase was recorded in the supply of oil to ships (48.2%) and aircraft (8.7%), as well as in sales of bitumen (62.9%), heavy and light fuel oil (46.1% and 15.2% respectively), gasoline (9.5%) and motor oil (9.3%). In contrast, a decrease was recorded in sales of kerosene (-34.5%), heating oil (-24.0%) and LPG (-12.6%). With regard to sales from petroleum product stations in particular, these showed an increase of 4.2% to 55,909 tonnes.
Total sales of petroleum products in the month of February 2024 compared to January 2024 increased by 5.2%. Indicatively, sales of motor oil (3.8%) and gasoline (1.6%) increased, while supplies of oil to aircraft (-4.9%) decreased.
Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of February 2024 decreased by 13.4% compared to the end of the previous month.

Methodological Information
Purpose and Coverage
To collect data on Imports, Sales and Stocks of Petroleum Products is carried out on a monthly basis.
It covers sales of petroleum products from petroleum service stations and sales to government departments, British Bases and the United Nations, ships and other customers, as well as stocks at the end of each month. Only oil companies are covered. In addition, it includes imports of petroleum products directly from the Cyprus Electricity Authority (CPA) and the manufacturing industry.
Data Collection
Data is collected on a monthly basis by the Statistical Service, which receives the specially designed questionnaire electronically from each of these companies.
