In relation to statements by MP Ms Alexandra Attalidou, according to which the recently formed and registered party VOLT, which she has joined after her withdrawal and independence from the Movement of Ecologists-Civic Co-operation will vote against the state budget of 2024, it is clarified that no party, which has not contested with a specific number of candidates the available number of electoral seats in the current general elections and has not secured the prescribed electoral quotas in the first and/or second allocation of seats can be considered or become a political party in Parliament or otherwise a parliamentary party and cannot in any other way be counted as such a party.

Therefore, any statements regarding the voting against the 2024 state budget by a non-parliamentary party in no way affect parliamentary procedures or other balances in Parliament.

Ms Attalidou, following her resignation from the party with which she was elected, retains the parliamentary seat she had occupied as an independent MP.
