The Grant Scheme is included in the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan (CRP) for the period 2021-2026 and will be funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. The total amount that will be made available for the needs of the Plan, during its implementation period, amounts to €25 million.

The amount made available for the needs of the 2nd Call, as a result of savings from the 1st Call of the Plan, will be at least €3 million and may increase if further savings arise from the completion of the implementation of the 1st Call.

The Scheme aims to support existing and new small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as defined in Annex I to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, which are or will be active in the processing and/or marketing of agricultural products. Activities related to the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, as well as wines and wine vinegar listed in Part II of Annex VII of Regulation (EU) 1308/2013, are not covered by the Scheme.
