The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Wednesday, 20 September 2023 at 14:20, a forest fire caused by lightning occurred within the Troodos State Forest, near the Trooditissa Monastery, at the boundaries of the Community of Finiou. The fire was brought under full control at 14:50, after burning a small area of low wild vegetation.
Forestry Department forces consisting of 12 people and four fire engines operated on the fire.
