[PIO] Forest fire under full control within the St. Mama State Forest

The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today at 9:15 a.m. a fire broke out within the state forest of Ag. The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under control at 10:30 am before it spread, burning a small area covered by wild vegetation.

Five members of the Forestry Department with three fire engines worked to extinguish the fire.

The fire was caused by a lightning strike.
