The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Friday, September 15, 2023 at 12:00 a.m., a fire broke out in the Vatena site of the Ormidea A State Forest. The fire was brought under full control at 13:00 after burning a small area of wild grasses and low shrubs.
A small fire truck from the Forestry Department with two Forestry Officers and three Forestry Officers, two British Banks fire trucks with five personnel and a Fire Department fire truck with three personnel participated in the suppression operation.
The fire was caused after an AEC cable was cut by a truck.
