The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that yesterday, at 14:05, a fire broke out in the location "Potami", at the boundaries of the community of Kathika, Paphos District.
The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate and the fire was brought under control at 16:00, after burning an area of 15 decares, covered with low wild vegetation and one decare of grain.
Three members of the Forestry Department with one fire engine and seven members of the Fire Service with three fire engines worked to extinguish the fire.
The exact causes of the fire are being investigated.
