The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today at 3:45 p.m. a fire broke out within the community of Ayios Epiphaniou Orini, Nicosia District.
The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under control at 4 pm before it spread, burning a small area covered by grass and wild vegetation.
Six Forestry Department personnel with two fire engines worked to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
