The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Monday 25 September 2023 at 7:45 am, a forest fire broke out in the location "Alakati" of Kambia Community, Nicosia District. The fire was brought under full control at 8:15, burning an area of three decares of wild vegetation.
21 persons of the Forestry Department with seven fire engines and one tanker participated in the extinguishing operation.
The exact causes of the fire are being investigated.
