The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 18:20, a forest fire broke out in an area of the Community of Kellia, Larnaca District.
The fire was brought under control at 19:40, burning an area of two decares with reeds and low wild vegetation.
The extinguishing operation involved 10 people from the Forestry Department with three fire engines and one earth mover. The Forestry Department's operation was assisted by the Fire Service with six people and two fire engines.
The causes of the fire are being investigated.
