[PIO] Forest fire near the Community of Mathiatis under full control

The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that yesterday, Monday, 20 May 2024 at 23:00, a fire broke out near the community of Mathiatis.

The fire was brought under full control today at 02:00, after burning an area of two decares of low wild vegetation.

Eight people from the Forestry Department with three fire trucks and three people from the Fire Service with one fire truck operated to extinguish the fire.

The exact causes of the fire are being investigated.
