The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Tuesday, 13 August 2024, at 16:53, a fire broke out in the area of Livadi of the Community of Lythrodonda.
The fire was brought under full control at 17:45, after burning an area of five decares covered with pine trees, bushes and low wild vegetation.
To extinguish the fire, 22 people of the Forestry Department with six fire engines, an agricultural tractor and a tanker truck operated. The Forestry Department's operation was assisted by the Fire Department with three people and a fire truck, and four volunteers from the Lythrodonda Community.
The causes of the fire are being investigated in cooperation with the Police.
