[PIO] Forest fire in the area of Anarita Community under full control

The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, announces that today, Friday, August 25, 2023, at 16:47, a fire broke out in an area of the Anaritas community of Paphos District.

The fire, which was caused by three different outbreaks, was brought under full control at 17:30 after it burned an area of four decares with low wild vegetation and apopalamas.

For the extinguishing of the fire, forces of the Forestry Department consisting of 15 people and three fire engines operated. The operations of the Forestry Department were assisted by the Fire Service with seven people and three fire engines, and the Coast Guard with two people and one fire engine.

The exact causes of the fire are being investigated.
