[PIO] Forest fire in Kambion Community under full control

The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today at 10:30 a.m. a fire broke out in the community of Kampion, Nicosia District.

The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under control at 10:50 am before it spread, burning a small area covered by grass and wild vegetation.

Four Forestry Department personnel with one fire engine worked to extinguish the fire.

The fire was caused by a metal cutting machine (emery).
