[PIO] Forest fire in an area of the Community of Sias under full control

The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that yesterday, Thursday 13 June 2024 at 23:00, a fire broke out at the location "Kalogiros", on the road Mathiatis - Sias, within the boundaries of the Community of Sias, Nicosia District.

The fire was brought under full control today, Friday, 14 June at 00:05, after burning an area of six decares covered with dry grass, low wild vegetation and pine trees. The extinguishing operation was assisted by local residents with three agricultural tractors.

The causes of the fire are being investigated.
