October 2021 (final data) and November 2021 (preliminary data)

The Statistical Office of Cyprus announces that the final data on Cyprus' external trade for October 2021 and the preliminary data for November 2021 are now available.

EXTERNAL TRADE STATISTICS, OCTOBER 2021

The main developments in Cyprus' external trade for October 2021 were. In October 2021, €714.4 million (from (b) (EU Member States and third countries) was €717.4 million compared to €827.4 million in October 2021. (b) Exports of domestically produced goods, including ship and aircraft supplies, for October 2021 were €101.0 million compared to €94.5 million in October 2020, a decrease of 13.7%.

(b) Exports of domestically produced goods, including ship and aircraft supplies, for October 2021 were €101.0 million compared to €94.5 million in October 2020, an increase of 6.9%. The value of exports of manufactured goods for October 2021 was €94.6 million compared to €88.2 million in October 2020, while the value of exports of agricultural products for October 2021 was €5.0 million compared to €3.8 million.

[C](c) Exports of foreign products, including ship and aircraft supplies, for October 2021 were €338.9 million compared to €178.0 million in October 2020, an increase of 90.4%.

The data are included in the monthly electronic report "Statistics of Intra-Community Trade and Trade with Third Countries (Summary Data)" for the month of October 2021, which is available free of charge on the web portal of the Statistical Office, in the Publications section, under the statistical subtitle Foreign Trade.

FOREIGN TRADE STATISTICS, NOVEMBER 2021

Based on preliminary data, the main developments in Cyprus' foreign trade for November 2021 can be summarized as follows. (by November 2020, €896.4 million compared to €692.9 million in November 2020, recording an increase of 29.4%. Imports from other EU Member States in November 2021 were €516.4 million and from third countries €380.0 million, compared to €395.5 million and €297.4 million respectively in November 2020. Imports in November 2021 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (ships and aircraft), totalling €137.7 million compared to €111.5 million in November 2020.

(b) Total exports of goods in November 2021 were €368.7 million compared to €147.6 million in November 2020, an increase of 149.7%. Exports to other EU Member States in November 2021 were €98.8 million and to third countries €269.9 million, compared to €48.1 million and €99.5 million respectively in November 2020. Exports in November 2021 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (ships and aircraft), totalling €148.4 million compared to €9.4 million in November 2020.

(c) Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and third countries) for January - November 2021 were €7,744.9 million compared to €6,928.6 million for January - November 2020, an increase of 11.8%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and third countries) for the period January - November 2021 were €2,945.8 million compared to €2,556.0 million for the period January - November 2020, an increase of 15.3%. The trade deficit was €4,799.0 million for the January - November 2021 period, compared with €4,372.6 million in the same period of 2020.

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces the release of final data on the foreign trade of Cyprus for October 2021 and of provisional data for November 2021.


FOREIGNTRADESTATISTICS, OCTOBER 2021


The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus in October 2021 were:


(a) Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) amounted to €714,4 mn in October 2021 as compared to €827,4 mn in October 2020, recording a decrease of 13,7%.


(b) Exports of domestically produced products, including stores and provisions, in October 2021 were €101,0 mn as compared to €94,5 mn in October 2020, recording an increase of 6,9%. Domestic exports of industrial products in October 2021 were €94,6 mn compared to €88,2 mn in October 2020, whilst domestic exports of agricultural products in October 2021 were €5,0 mn compared to €3,8 mn in October 2020.


(c) Exports of foreign products, including stores and provisions, in October 2021 were €338,9 mn as compared to €178,0 mn in October 2020, recording an increase of 90,4%.

On the basis of provisional data, the main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus in November 2021 can be summarized as follows:


(a) Total imports of goods were €896,4 mn as compared to €692,9 mn in November 2020, recording an increase of 29,4%. Imports from other EU Member States in November 2021 were €516,4 mn and from third countries €380,0 mn, compared to €395,5 mn and €297,4 mn respectively in November 2020. Imports in November 2021 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels and aircrafts), with total value of €137,7 mn as compared to €111,5 mn in November 2020.


(b) Total exports of goods in November 2021 were €368,7 mn as compared to €147,6 mn in November 2020, recording an increase of 149,7%. Exports to other EU Member States in November 2021 were €98,8 mn and to third countries €269,9 mn, compared to €48,1 mn and €99,5 mn respectively in November 2020. Exports in November 2021 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels and aircrafts), with total value of €148,4 mn as compared to €9,4 mn in November 2020.


(c) Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January – November 2021 amounted to €7.744,9 mn as compared to €6.928,6 mn in January – November 2020, recording an increase of 11,8%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January - November 2021 were €2.945,8 mn compared to €2.556,0 mn in January - November 2020, registering an increase of 15,3%. The trade deficit was €4.799,0 mn in January - November 2021 compared to €4.372,6 mn in the corresponding period of 2020.
