[PIO] Foreign Trade Statistics: November 2021 (final data) and December 2021 (preliminary data)

The Statistical Office of Cyprus announces that final data on Cyprus' foreign trade for November 2021 and preliminary data for December 2021 are available.

Foreign Trade Statistics, November 2021

The main developments in Cyprus' foreign trade for November 2021 were.

(b) Exports of domestically produced goods, including ship and aircraft supplies, for November 2021 were €145.2 million compared to €98.5 million in November 2020, an increase of 33.4%.

The value of exports of industrial products for November 2021 was €137.5 million compared to €92.1 million in November 2020, while the value of exports of agricultural products for November 2021 was €5.9 million compared to €4.3 million.

(c) Foreign merchandise exports, including ship and aircraft supplies, for November 2021 were €223.4 million compared to €49.2 million in November 2020, an increase of 354.1%.

The data are included in the monthly electronic report "Statistics of Intra-Community Trade and Trade with Third Countries (Summary Data)" for November 2021, which is available free of charge on the Statistics Office's web portal, in the Publications section, under the statistical subtopic Foreign Trade.

Foreign Trade Statistics, December 2021

Based on preliminary data, the main developments in Cyprus' foreign trade for December 2021 can be summarised as follows. Imports from other EU Member States in December 2021 were €425.5 million and from third countries €267.0 million, compared with €397.0 million and €316.5 million respectively in December 2020. Imports in December 2021 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (ships), totalling €12.4 million compared to €120.4 million in December 2020.

(b) Total exports of goods in December 2021 were €334.1 million compared to €190.6 million in December 2020, an increase of 75.3%. Exports to other EU Member States in December 2021 were €60.9 million and to third countries €273.2 million, compared to €58.8 million and €131.8 million respectively in December 2020. Exports in December 2021 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (ships), with a total value of €158.0 million, compared to €43.0 million in December 2020.

(c) Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and third countries) for January - December 2021 were €8,468.1 million, compared to €7,642.1 million for January - December 2020, an increase of 10.8%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and third countries) for the period January - December 2021 were €3,279.9 million compared to €2,746.6 million for the period January - December 2020, an increase of 19.4%. The trade deficit was €5,188.2 million for the period January - December 2021 compared to €4,895.5 million for the same period in 2020.
