Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, leaving the meeting between the Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean and the President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Christodoulides, which took place today at the Presidential Palace, made a statement to the media. We have just concluded a meeting with the President of the Republic, with whom they share a long friendship. We had the opportunity to discuss issues concerning both the Organisation, of which Cyprus is an active member, and issues concerning the region and the situation in the region.
As you know, a very important conference is taking place today, co-organised by the Union for the Mediterranean and the Commissioner for Gender Equality, which is attended by a significant number of delegates and covered by a large number of mass media in the region. With the Union for the Mediterranean we have a partnership in which the Republic of Cyprus has invested and will continue to invest throughout the coming period."
