Yesterday, Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides concluded his contacts in Saudi Arabia, where he accompanied the President of the Republic during his official visit to the country.

At the end of the President's official contacts, Mr. Kasoulides held separate meetings with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir.

The Foreign Minister's contacts focused, inter alia, on bilateral relations and the prospect of further deepening them in a wide range of areas such as the economy, trade and investment, developments in the Eastern Mediterranean region and the wider Middle East, the Cyprus issue and our side's proposals in the framework of the Confidence Building Measures, EU-Saudi relations, as well as other regional and international issues of common interest such as developments in Ukraine.

In addition, they reviewed developments in Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, and exchanged views on tackling terrorism, organised crime and violent extremism. The contacts revealed the need to broaden and deepen the cooperation between Cyprus and Saudi Arabia, aiming at the prevalence of multilateralism, cooperation, as well as conditions of security and stability for the states and peoples of the region.

During his stay in Riyadh, Mr. Kasoulides gave interviews to local media representatives.
