[PIO] Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides travels to Brest to participate in the informal Council of EU Foreign Ministers (GYMNICH)

Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides will travel tomorrow, Thursday, 13 January, to Brest, France, where he will participate in the informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the European Union (Gymnich).

The Gymnich will start with a joint working lunch of the Foreign and Defence Ministers, during which the processes of shaping the EU Strategic Compass for Security and Defence will be discussed. Foreign Ministers will then exchange views on the evolving security situation in Eastern Europe and the challenges the EU faces in the Eastern neighbourhood.

On Friday morning, Foreign Ministers will discuss EU-China relations, while at the end of Gymnich the French Presidency of the Council of the EU will host a working lunch to discuss the EU-Africa Summit to be held in February.

The Foreign Minister returns to Cyprus on Saturday, 15 January.
