Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides will leave tomorrow, Sunday, for Washington, D.C., where he will pay a working visit, following an invitation by his American counterpart, Mr. At noon on Tuesday, 1 February, Mr. Kasoulides will meet with Mr. Blinken at the US Department of State.
At noon on Tuesday, 1 February, Mr. Kasoulides will meet with Mr. Blinken at the US Department of State. The two Ministers' discussions are expected to focus on, inter alia, bilateral relations and the prospect of further deepening them in a wide range of areas, the Cyprus issue and the creation of conditions conducive to the resumption of negotiations, energy issues, multilateral cooperation mechanisms with emphasis on the 3+1 format, as well as other regional and international issues of common interest.
In the afternoon of the same day, the Foreign Minister will be received by the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Ms. Nancy Pelosi, and will then meet with the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Ms. Victoria Nuland. On Tuesday evening, Mr Kasoulides will attend a dinner hosted in his honour by representatives of expatriate organisations.
On Wednesday morning, 2 February, the Foreign Minister will attend a working breakfast with representatives of US-based think tanks, followed by a meeting with the Director for Europe of the National Security Council, Ms Amanda Sloat. Afterwards, Mr. Kasoulides will have a meeting with the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Mr. Robert Menendez. Amos Hochstein.
Mr. Kasoulides will depart from the US capital for his return to Cyprus in the afternoon of the same day.
