[PIO] Foreign Minister goes to Malta for the MED9 Ministerial Meeting

Foreign Minister Dr Konstantinos Kombos will leave today, Tuesday 12 September, for Malta, where he will participate in the work of the MED 9 (Cyprus, Greece, Malta, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Croatia and Slovenia).

The programme of the Summit starts this evening with a working dinner hosted by the Maltese Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Trade, Mr Ian Borg. Tomorrow, Wednesday 13 September, Ministers will have a full day of discussions, focusing on the EU's relations with the Southern Neighbourhood. In this context, the discussion is expected to focus on the areas of stability and peace in the Mediterranean, sustainable economic development, migration and energy issues. Ministers will also exchange views on the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework, as well as on the future structure and overall objectives of the MDG9.

Dr. Kobos returns to Cyprus tomorrow evening.
