[PIO] Foreign Minister goes to Luxembourg for the EU Foreign and General Affairs Councils

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr.Konstantinos Kombos, will depart for Luxembourg today, Sunday 22 October 2023, in the afternoon.

On Monday 23 October 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council. Discussions will focus on the situation in the Middle East following the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel, developments regarding Armenia and Azerbaijan, the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as other current regional and international issues.

On the same day, after the Council's proceedings, the 19th EU-Central Asia Ministerial Meeting will take place with the participation of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

On Tuesday, 24 October 2023, the Foreign Minister will participate in the work of the EU General Affairs Council. The main topics of discussion will be the preparation of the European Council to be held on 26 and 27 October in Brussels, as well as the continuation of the dialogue on the rule of law.

During his presence in Luxembourg, on Monday 23 October, Mr. Kombos will have a bilateral meeting with the Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Mr. Olivér Várhelyi.

The Foreign Minister will return to Cyprus on Wednesday 25 October 2023.
