[PIO] Foreign Minister goes to Brussels to participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos is travelling to Brussels today, where tomorrow, Monday 13 November, he will participate in the work of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

During the Council's proceedings, Foreign Ministers will exchange views on the situation in the Middle East following the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on 7 October. The Foreign Minister will refer to the initiative of the Republic of Cyprus to create a maritime corridor for the unhindered and safe delivery of humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Gaza.

Also on the agenda will be the latest developments regarding Armenia and Azerbaijan, the ongoing Russian aggression in Ukraine and the foreign policy aspect of economic security.

After the Council's proceedings, the EU-Western Balkans Ministerial Meeting will take place, chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Mr. Josep Borrell.
