Meeting with the Attorney General of the Republic and President of the Disciplinary Board of Lawyers Mr. The President of the Pancyprian Bar Association Mr. Michalis Vorkas and the newly appointed members of the Disciplinary Council of the Pancyprian Bar Association.
This is the first meeting of the plenary session of the Disciplinary Board under its new composition, with Mr. Savvidis congratulating the members of the Board on their appointment and focusing on the very serious task that the Disciplinary Board is called upon to perform. A task, he said, that is also important for the improvement of the legal profession as a whole.
During the meeting, Mr Savvidis praised the positive results of the work that the Disciplinary Board has done over the past three years to complete the backlog of cases, while expressing the hope that all cases that are still pending will be completed in the short term. According to the static data presented by the Secretariat of the Pancyprian Bar Association, out of the total of 1035 cases pending before the Disciplinary Board, either as backlog or as new cases registered during the past three years, only about 150 cases are currently pending, of which some are already under consideration. During the meeting, the three tiers of the Disciplinary Board for handling cases were also confirmed, with lawyer and member of the Disciplinary Board Mr. Kyriakos Kousios acting as coordinator.

The Attorney General of the Republic also expressed his satisfaction with the improving relations between the Legal Service and the Pancyprian Bar Association.
Finally, during the meeting the financial statements for the year 2022 were ratified.
