[PIO] Film project submissions for the 5th Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days in the framework of the 22nd International Festival "Film Meres

Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days, an institutional activity of the International Film Festival - Cyprus, will take place for the fifth consecutive year between 18 - 20 April 2024 in the framework of the 22nd International Film Festival - Cyprus (12 - 20 April 2024). The Festival is an institution of the Ministry of Culture of Cyprus and is organized by the Department of Modern and Contemporary Culture in collaboration with Rialto Theatre.

Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days has been operating as a platform for co-production, training and networking since 2020, bringing producers, directors and writers from Mediterranean countries together with professionals from the international film industry. It offers the opportunity for filmmakers to present film projects for the production of feature films.

Filmmakers will present film projects in development at the co-production forum through a pitching process, with a view to future collaborations with other filmmakers, producers, financiers, sales agents, representatives of TV channels, film and TV platforms, distributors, festival representatives and film funding bodies.

The vision of the organizers is the evolution of this initiative into a dynamic platform for artistic and financial partnerships, as well as the development of the cinematographic art and industry in Cyprus, and its upgrading as a point of interconnection between professionals of the near region and the international scene.

Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days is headed by producer - director Danae Stylianou.

1. 5th Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point Co-production Forum

Opening of film project submissions for fiction films in development

Final submission date: 1 February 2024

Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point announces the opening of film project deposits for feature fiction films in development. Producers can submit their proposals between 19 December 2023 and 1 February 2024.

The international co-production forum Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point offers feature filmmakers a platform to present their film projects to the international film industry in order to establish the right contacts for the realisation of their proposals. It aims at a dynamic selection of film projects from Mediterranean countries, giving producers and directors the opportunity to present their ideas to potential partners, with a view to cooperation in terms of co-production, financing, development and distribution. The Forum is organised in collaboration with the Thessaloniki International Film Festival Market.

The Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point will select 6-8 proposals for feature fiction film projects in development and financing, which will be presented to professionals from the international film industry. The event will bring together film development specialists, producers, financiers, sales agents, representatives of TV channels, film and TV platforms, as well as distributors, festival representatives and film financing bodies. The producers and directors/screenwriters of the proposals selected for the Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point will present their film projects in a pitching process followed by face-to-face meetings with interested professionals.

The application process for the 5th Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point Co-production Forum starts on 19 December 2023 and all applications must be submitted by 1 February 2024. Terms and conditions are posted on the relevant website.

2. Dot.on.the.Map Cinema Talks

The Dot.on.the.Map Cinema Talks section offers a series of masterclasses, discussions, seminars and workshops with distinguished industry professionals. Dot.on.the.Map Cinema Talks activities are aimed at film professionals and accredited guests of the festival. The programme will be announced at a later stage.
