The submission period for the Student Radio Message and Song Contest "Make it be heard" is extended until March 6, 2022, following a significant number of requests from schools in Greece for an extension due to the difficult conditions caused by the pandemic.
The "Make it heard" competition is co-organised by the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, the scientific company European School Radio, the Educational Radio and Television of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the National Centre for Audiovisual Media and Communication of Greece.
This year's theme of the competition, entitled, "Traveling", invites students to creatively express their personal or collective journey through original radio and music stories. Journey literally, journey to the past, journey to the future, journey as liberation, journey as acquaintance with the new, journey inward to the depths of the soul, and so many other different journeys. Ultimately, journey to Ithaca, that is, journey as the path to a destination. The concept of travel implies the need for transition, foreshadows the exploration of the unknown, and raises questions of knowing oneself and others. By planning a future journey or recounting a personal journey, children have the opportunity to externalise experiences and feelings in relation to their own journeys, but also to cultivate their imagination, moving from the realistic and feasible to the fantastic and dreamlike.
The competition is held for the eighth consecutive year and is addressed to schools of all levels in Cyprus, Greece, the Greek community and other schools worldwide, becoming a successful institution in school education.
