In view of the war raging in Ukraine, resulting in the descent of refugees into Cyprus in need of substantial humanitarian assistance, the Council of Ministers at its meeting yesterday decided:
(a) that an exemption be granted to citizens from Ukraine who are not permanent residents of Cyprus to be allowed to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and any other vaccine deemed necessary for Public Health purposes.
B) to issue vaccination/rehabilitation certificates (EUDCC) to citizens (Cypriots, permanent and non-resident Cypriots) who have been vaccinated/vaccinated in Ukraine irrespective of the equivalence of the Ukrainian certificate.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health, through the European Emergency Response Coordination Centre, will send humanitarian aid to war-torn Ukraine with medicines and health supplies worth half a million euros.
