In the framework of the government's policy for the digitalization and modernization of the communication of citizens with the Social Security Services in order to create a modern and citizen-friendly state, the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance, in cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, announces that it is now possible to apply online for sickness benefits from the Social Insurance Fund.
The electronic submission of applications for a specific benefit is the first step in the use of digital services aimed at both optimising communication with citizens and speeding up the completion of the examination of such applications. In the immediate future, the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance, in cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, will proceed with the digitalisation and electronic submission of applications for all benefits, with priority being given to unemployment and maternity benefits, which are the ones with the highest number of applications submitted.
From today, Monday 7 February 2022, applications for sickness benefits from the Social Insurance Fund can be submitted electronically via the website http://www.mlsi.gov.cy/sid, in order to speed up their processing.
In order to submit an online application for sickness benefit, it is necessary for insured persons to have previously created a profile on the Cy-Login (Ariadne) online platform and to have identified themselves.
It is stressed that the possibility of submitting a paper application will remain valid only for the next two (2) weeks. At the end of the two-week period, application for sickness benefit will be possible only through the online process.
