The Law on the Election of Members of the European Parliament in conjunction with the Law on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives

Proclamation of elected Members of the European Parliament

Because, following an Election Warrant issued by the Minister of the Interior, pursuant to Article 27 of the Act on the Election of Members of the European Parliament in conjunction with Article 18 of the Act on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives, a ballot was held on Sunday, 9 June 2024, for the election of Members of the European Parliament.

And as a result of the collection and tabulation of the voting results and, after the allocation of seats, the following seats have been allocated to the following combinations/individual candidates:

And because, in accordance with Article 23 of the Law on the Election of Members of the European Parliament in conjunction with Article 32 of the Law on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives, the seats allocated to each combination shall be occupied by the candidates of the combination which has obtained the highest number of preferential votes in order and, in the event of a tie, the seat shall be allocated by drawing lots among the candidates who have obtained the tie.

Therefore, I, Elikkos A. Ilias, Chief Electoral Officer for the Election of Members of the European Parliament, exercising the powers conferred on me by Article 27 of the Law on the Election of Members of the European Parliament, in conjunction with subsection (1) of Article 34 of the Law on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives, I hereby declare, in accordance with the ranking of the results of the ballot and on the basis of the order in which the candidates were ranked after the counting of their preferential votes, the following persons, whose names shall be published in the Official Journal of the Republic, shall be elected Members of the European Parliament.
