The Chief Electoral Officer announces that in accordance with the provisions of the current electoral legislation, no person may establish or maintain polling stations or display or post any signs, directly or indirectly related to the Elections, on the day of voting or on the eve of voting, outside the polling stations. Candidates are therefore urged to ensure that their advertisements are removed in good time.
Offenders are guilty of a criminal offence and, on conviction, are liable to imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to €5.000 or both penalties together.
