Today, 11 June 2024, at the Filoxenia Conference Centre in Nicosia, the ceremony of proclamation of the six newly elected Cypriot Members of the European Parliament took place.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the Democratic Rally (DISY) Mrs. Anita Demetriou in her statement to journalists said the following. We would like to thank and congratulate all those who have been elected, and of course everyone for a difficult election campaign, which fortunately has come to an end. Now the elections are over, and we have hard work to do for all that we have to manage.
For us in the Democratic Rally, as the most European responsible force, it is an even greater responsibility to respond to all that we have to manage. We are sending two accomplished colleagues, Loukas and Michael, and I am sure that they will do their best. Of course, we wish good luck to all our MEPs, all six of them, and emphasise that first and foremost is our Cyprus, the good of our country and, of course, Europe.
Be well, good luck and keep up the good work, hard work for all."
