The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer specifies that on Election Day, Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 6 p.m, and assuming that the voting process has been completed at all polling places, the Registrar General will make a statement regarding the end of the voting process, the closing of polling place polls and the possibility of publishing EXIT POLLS. The final voter turnout is expected to be announced shortly thereafter, around 6:15 p.m.

The above arrangement is being made to facilitate television stations to broadcast the exit poll results at 6 p.m, immediately after the announcement by the Chief Electoral Officer.

It should be noted that the results of the exit polls should be issued and announced in any case after the announcement by the Chief Electoral Officer that the polls have been properly closed in all polling stations.

It should be noted that the results of the exit polls should be issued and announced in any case after the announcement by the Chief Electoral Officer that the polls have been properly closed in all polling stations. Any issuance and announcement of exit poll results prior to the Registrar's declaration that the polls have closed may result in criminal prosecution for violation of the Elections Act, for improper and unlawful influence and/or influencing of voters.

Those responsible for conducting exit polls, in violation of the Act, may be charged with violating the secrecy of the ballot or obstructing the free exercise of the voters' right to vote or coercion, mislead or illegally influence voters to cast or refrain from casting their vote, with the consequence, in the event of conviction, of being sentenced to several months' imprisonment and/or a fine or both penalties together.
