The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Marilena Evangelou, held a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament, Mrs. Anita Demetriou, today.
During the meeting, the actions and priorities of the Deputy Ministry on issues related to Social Policy were analysed, with a focus on vulnerable groups of the population and with emphasis on the challenges faced by persons with disabilities, the Third Age and especially children under the legal care of the State.
There was also an update on the modernization and upgrading of the Minimum Guaranteed Income (MGI), a process which is in its final stage of implementation.
Ms. Anita Demetriou and Ms. Marilena Evangelou agreed that through close cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, a welfare state with a focus on people can be built.
