[PIO] Delivery of Credentials of the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the International Maritime Organization (IMO)

The High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the United Kingdom, Dr Kyriakos Kouros, presented on 9 May 2024 to the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Mr Arsenio Dominguez, his credentials as the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the IMO, at the Organization's headquarters in London.

During the presentation of the credentials, the Permanent Representative conveyed to the Secretary General the warm greetings of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, expressing his full support for the work carried out by the IMO and his confidence in the continued good cooperation of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Cyprus to the Organization. He briefed the Secretary General on the current phase of the Cyprus problem and the efforts of President Christodoulides for the resumption of talks towards the resolution of the Cyprus problem and the reunification of Cyprus. After welcoming Mr Kouros, he wished him every success in carrying out his diplomatic mission and thanked him for the exemplary cooperation between the Organization and Cyprus, describing Cyprus as an important partner. During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen Cyprus' relations with the IMO.
