The National Advisory Committee on Vaccination of the Ministry of Health, after evaluating the data and reports of the European Medicines Agency, decided that a 3rd dose of Covid-19 vaccine should be given to people 12 years of age and older who are severely immunosuppressed.
A)Specifically:
- TaModernaand Pfizer(3rd dose) may be given at least 28 days after the 2nd dose in persons 12 years of age and older, who are severely immunocompromised.
B) Severely immunocompromised persons are considered to be:
- With solid organ transplantation, or haematopoietic cell transplantation.
- On a transplant waiting list.
- With renal failure undergoing dialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
- With cancer under treatment.
- With solid organ cancer in persons undergoing treatment and the treatment includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, or other type of therapy.
- With hematologic cancer in the past five years.
- Autoinflammatory, autoimmune, or other immunosuppressive diseases, receiving specific immunomodulatory therapies, as well as persons with primary immunodeficiencies or persons with HIV infection who have a CD4 count below 200.
- Administered immunodeficiency drugs e.g. a) Active use of biologic agents (e.g. TNF inhibitors, interleukin inhibitors), or other immunosuppressive drugs, b) Active chronic use of corticosteroids e20mg of prednisone or its equivalent for 1 month).
As a reminder, when vaccinating, citizens must necessarily present a medical certificate proving that they fall into the above categories of patients.
