Dangerous products, which do not meet the current legislation laying down essential health and safety requirements, have been placed on the market in the European Union. The Labour Inspection Department of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance informs employers, self-employed persons and consumers that, according to information registered in the Rapid Information Exchange System (RAPEX), the following products are dangerous.
MACHINERY
Milling machine of Slovakian origin

The safety parts of the machine control system (emergency stop switch, general switch that locks in the off position, safety interlock and function selector) that are not connected to a safe part of the machine control system may fail. Consequently, the operator may suffer electric shock or injury. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Machinery Directive and European standards EN ISO 12100:2011 and EN 60204-1:2019.
PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT
Protective mask of Chinese origin
RAPEX Report. Notification A12/01636/21
The product is CE marked but not certified as protective equipment by a Notified Body. Consequently, it is not demonstrated that the product meets the health and safety requirements and therefore does not protect even when combined with additional protective measures. The product does not comply with the European Regulation on personal protective equipment.

The Labour Inspectorate Department invites the consumer public, in case it detects the above products on the Cypriot market, to inform the competent Officers of the Department at 22405663 or 22405603 or 22405604.
