Very recently, the first standard on gender equality, ISO 53800, was developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO): Guidelinesforthepromotionandimplementationofgenderequalityandwomen’sempowerment.
ISO 53800 is a milestone in the field and in human history in general, because gender inequality is one of the most pressing issues facing modern societies and because it contributes to the creation of a better and fairer world. It provides guidelines for organizations to promote and implement gender equality and women's empowerment and applies to all organizations, regardless of their size, location or field of activity.
Why is ISO[/B]
[/P]ISO 53800 is vital in addressing systemic gender inequalities and discrimination in various sectors, including the workplace. It aims to foster a culture of gender equality for the benefit of all, contributing to sustainable, people-centred development.
