[PIO] Curriculum vitae of the new Commissioner for Citizens, Mr Panagiotis Palate

Mr Panagiotis Palates was born in Nicosia in 1985. He graduated from Archangelos High School and served his military service as an Infantry Second Lieutenant.

He studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina and holds a degree in Archaeology. He continued and completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Strasbourg, France, at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Studies (Sciences Humaines et Sociales). At the same time, he developed academic research in specialized areas of the humanities with publications and presentations at international conferences.

He worked as a research associate in academic research projects and academic excavations in Greece and in Jordan, in Ithaca, at the Necromanche of Ephira and Tel Kafrein respectively, as head of an excavation section. Subsequently, he worked in the House of Representatives as a Scientific Associate and, most recently, he served as Advisor to the President of the Republic.

He was actively involved in the student movement and the local community, in Ioannina as President of the Student Party Anagenis, in Nicosia as District Organizing Secretary of the Democratic Party and subsequently as B. He is married to Myrto Ktena Palate and is the father of Kyriakos, aged 9 years, and Beatrice, aged 5 years.
