Following the instructions of the Minister of Interior Mr. Constantine Ioannou, a team consisting of officials from the Paphos District Administration, the Department of Town Planning and Zoning (Paphos Offices) and the Game and Wildlife Service, completed the inspection and registration of livestock/agricultural buildings (styadias) in the area of Akamas, in which unauthorized modifications were identified.

During the inspections, illegal interventions and modifications were detected in 25 premises in violation of their licence. The premises in question are located in plots on the outskirts of the Akamas National Forest Park in areas adjacent to Natura Network sites. It is noted that for five of these cases, legal action had already been taken by the Paphos District Administration and the Department of Town Planning and Zoning.

For the remaining 20 cases and based on the findings of the investigation, the Minister of Interior gave instructions so that the necessary data of the owners could be immediately collected through the Department of Cadastre and Land Surveying and the Population Registry. Subsequently, a reasonable period of time will be given to remove the illegalities and restore legality. Cases of non-compliance will be forwarded by the Paphos District Administration to the General Prosecutor's Office for judicial measures.

It is noted that the inspections were carried out by physical autopsy of the team, as well as through the use of technological means, utilizing the databases of the Department of Cadastre and Land Surveying.
