The President of the Hellenic Republic, Nicos Christodoulides, who is in New York for the 78th UN General Assembly, will attend the opening session of the High Level Forum on Sustainable Development.
During the Forum, President Christodoulides will attend the speeches of the President of the 78th General Assembly, as well as the President of ECOSOC, and will have the opportunity to meet with Heads of State or Government participating in the Forum.
Immediately afterwards, the President of the Republic will have a meeting with the President of the European Commission, Mrs Ursula Von der Leyen.
Tomorrow, 19 September, the President of the Republic will attend a reception hosted by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr Antonio Guterres, at the United Nations building in honour of the Heads of State participating in the General Assembly.
He will then attend the opening session of the General Assembly, during which the Secretary-General of the United Nations, US President Joe Biden, King Abdullah II of Jordan and President Guterres of Turkey, among others, will address the Assembly. Recep Tayyip Erdoyan.
Subsequently, President Christodoulides will have a meeting with the President of the European Council, Mr. Charles Michel.
Later, President Christodoulides will meet with the Director of the United Nations Sustainable Development Network, Dr. Jeffrey Sachs.

The meeting will focus on issues related to climate change and the initiative of the Republic of Cyprus to address its consequences in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Stevo Pendarovski and with the President of Moldova Mrs. Maia Sandu.
Subsequently, the President of the Republic will address the Summit of Leaders on the theme "Unity and Solidarity".
Finally, in the evening, the President of the Republic and his wife Mrs Philippa Carcera Christodoulides will attend the reception hosted by President Biden and his wife Dr Jill Biden for the Heads of State attending the United Nations General Assembly.
