During the meeting, concerns and thoughts on changes in the organization of curricula in high schools and technical schools made by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth (MPEAN) were presented. A discussion followed and thoughts and suggestions were expressed, while the Minister of Education said that suggestions already submitted were being considered and asked for additional suggestions to be submitted in writing regarding trends and needs in the field of employment, due to the fact that thoughts and plans are currently being considered for the reorganization of curricula. There was also a discussion on exploring margins to give greater opportunity for practical training in the course of studies.

Special reference was also made to the development of Post-secondary Vocational Education and Training Institutes (VET Institutes). Mr Prodromou informed about the construction of the central building intended to house the MIEEK system in Limassol, which will soon be completed, and informed about the planning of further development and expansion of the MIEEKs, which is a priority objective.

A common finding was that the vocational dimension in the education system should be strengthened and curricula should be developed accordingly, emphasizing the development of skills that are necessary in today's world and in line with the trends for the future. It was common ground that there is much potential through the operation of the MIECs. There was also a universal view that particular emphasis should be placed on the need to include digital skills to a greater extent, both "horizontally" throughout the education system and through specific programmes and specialisations.

The meeting was attended by the Director General Mr. Neofytos Papadopoulos, the Director of Higher Education Ms. Terpsa Konstantinidou, the Director of Secondary General Education Mr. Kyprianos Louis and the Director of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training Mr. Elias Markatzis.
