Flights of French Air Force fighter aircraft will take place today, Wednesday 9 February in the afternoon, Friday 11 February and Saturday 12 February, within the airspace of the Republic of Cyprus.
The training activity, which is part of the implementation of the defence cooperation programme between Cyprus and France, will take place in parts of the land and airspace of the Republic of Cyprus.
The main purpose of the exercise is to check the air defence system of the Republic of Cyprus and to train National Guard personnel in real conditions.
The flights to be performed today are part of the preparation for the "TALOS/2022" air exercise to be held on Friday, which involves the virtual attack of targets by fighter aircraft and the reaction of the National Guard's anti-aircraft systems.
