[PIO] Completion of the Foreign Minister's contacts in Paris

Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides' contacts and meetings in Paris concluded today.

On Tuesday morning, 22 February, Mr. Kasoulides participated in the ministerial meeting organized by the French Presidency of the EU Council on the Indo-Pacific. During the meeting he had the opportunity to exchange views with his counterparts in the framework of a round table discussion on climate change and biodiversity.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Foreign Minister participated in an informal meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council held in an extraordinary session in Paris to review the situation in Ukraine and examine practical ways for the EU to respond.

Today, Wednesday, 23 February, Mr. Kasoulides held separate meetings with the President of the Cyprus-France Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ms. Nadia Essayan, the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, Mr. Jean Louis Bourlanges and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French Senate Mr. Christian Cambon.

The focus of Mr. Kasoulides' contacts was, inter alia, on bilateral relations between Cyprus and France and the prospect of their further deepening in individual areas, the Cyprus problem and our side's proposals in the framework of the Confidence Building Measures, as well as other current regional and international issues of common interest.

Mr. Kasoulides returns to Cyprus tomorrow, Thursday, 24 February.
