The series of regional meetings of Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou with representatives of Community Councils across Cyprus is concluded today. The Minister of Interior has meetings today with the Presidents and representatives of the Communities of Paphos District. Yesterday, Mr Ioannou met with the Communities of the Nicosia District, while it is recalled that last week he had a series of contacts with the Community Councils of Larnaca, Famagusta and Limassol Districts.
The purpose of the meetings is to discuss specific and important issues facing the Communities of rural and mountainous areas, so that through coordination with the competent services to launch immediate solutions.
In his statements in the context of the meeting with communities of the Paphos District, held today at the Community Council of Mesogi, Mr. Ioannou said that the meeting in Paphos today concludes the cycle of contacts with about 100 communities held in all the Districts. "This cycle of contacts has enabled us to get close to the Communities, to listen to their needs and problems. Our aim now is to take forward actions to solve the problems that have been highlighted, so that at the end of the day, we can improve the quality of life of the people of these Communities," Mr. Ioannou stressed.
At the meetings, the Minister was accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry of Interior, the Prefects concerned, as well as officials from the Ministry of Interior and other relevant government agencies.
