The European Data Protection Board (EDPS) is an independent European body, established under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which contributes to the consistent application of data protection rules across the European Economic Area (EEA) and promotes cooperation between EEA Data Protection Authorities. The EDPS involves the Data Protection Commissioner, the respective Supervisory Authorities of the European Union and EEA Member States, as well as the European Data Protection Supervisor.

The EDPS is seeking experts to work with the EEA Supervisory Authorities, at various stages of investigation and enforcement activities, in the field of data protection legislation.

The ESRB seeks to establish a Support Pool of Experts, consisting of experts with expertise in areas such as: IT systems auditing, website security, operating systems and mobile device applications, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, behavioural advertising, anonymisation techniques, cryptology, artificial intelligence, UX design, financial technology, data science, digital law, etc.

This Expert Support Group is a key strategic initiative of the ESRB, aimed at strengthening the capacity of Supervisory Authorities to supervise and enforce the safeguarding of personal data.
