The National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NCCC-CY)[/URL][/B] informs about the action "Support to cybersecurity in the health sector", which is co-funded by the European Union through the "Digital Europe" programme.
The objective of the action is to support the cybersecurity resilience of healthcare environments and public health institutions in order to reduce the damage from cybersecurity incidents affecting hospitals and healthcare providers.
The co-funding will be provided for:
- adopting off-the-shelf, innovative cybersecurity solutions, including solutions developed in research and innovation projects supported by the European Union;
- providing healthcare environments and public health institutions (especially SMEs) with modern tools to protect them from cyber risks;
- contributing to data sharing to improve security collectively.
The tools to be promoted under this action should address at least one of the following objectives:
- Implementing the objectives and requirements of the NIS Directive[/B] in relation to the health sector.
- Support for the adoption of software tools, methods, organisational and management practices, and educational material on cybersecurity by healthcare and public health institutions, in particular SMEs.
- Adoption of electronic identity (eID) and data management solutions that contribute to data security in healthcare and public health institutions.
- Promote cybersecurity education, awareness and skills development in healthcare and public health institutions.
The co-financing rate for this action is 75% for SMEs and 50% for other beneficiaries. The total amount of co-financing at European level for this action is €10 million. Cross-border solutions can also be promoted through the action.
